YEA! Chicago's program is an engaging, challenging and fun program where girls learn how to develop and start their own businesses or social movements. In this six-month course running from October to March in Chicago, girls are guided by instructors, subject matter experts, mentors, and volunteers during evening classes that take place weekly. YEA! graduates often describe our program as life changing because they've learned to try new things, take risks, manage failure, and follow what they love.
Students generate ideas, set goals, create business plans, work their plans, and launch their businesses. Those who complete the required work have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to investors to earn start-up funding for their businesses. Last year, 93% of students pitched to investors and earned $15,000 in start-up funding! In addition to core curriculum, weekly classes include lessons and development of important aspects of being in business such as professionalism, networking, meeting commitments, presentation skills, perseverance, resilience, treating others well, and having fun along the way.
We're looking for committed, open-minded girls in 6th -12th grade to join our program. Our course is $695 for all instruction, materials, field trips, and dinner each week. A limited number of financial aid scholarships are available.
